Well, in the good spirit of the GRABBBR contest and considering Friday’s around here are usually reserved for personal finance roundups and giveaways, I thought it might be appropriate for today’s roundup to feature posts this week from the GRABBR partners.  So, on with the round up and don’t forget to get to leave a comment to get your 5 points for the GRABBBR giveaway!

We’ve all had those times when we received our mobile or home phone bill in the mail and noticed extra charges for directory assistance calls.  While they don’t cost too awfully much, it’s just darn annoying to see extra charges.  Well, don’t waste money dialing information, use these alternatives. [Personal Finance Journey]

Have you heard of the Best of Money Carnival?  If not, this carnival travels around to different blogs each week featuring the top 10 personal finance blog posts picked by the host blog.  I was honored my review of Crown Financial Ministries was picked along with some other great posts this week.  [Debt Free Adventure]

The Price family is about to head out on a few trips to visit family in the coming month.  We’ll be driving to Louisiana one weekend and then heading to Missouri another.  We’ve become quite seasoned at road trips and have definitely had to learn a few tricks along the way to save money and keep two young children entertained.  I’m always looking for ways to be frugal when traveling and one of the best is to have a good supply of snacks on-hand versus buying them at the convenience store on the side of the highway.  [Gather Little by Little]

On a a serious note, it’s important to establish a legal guiardian for your child.  Have you thought about who will care for your child if something were to happen to you and your spouse?  If you don’t choose a guardian one of the courts will make the decision for you, so it’s extremely important to have this matter covered in your will.  [Provident Planning]

I’ve long thought the way you start making a difference in society to correct overspending and debt problems is to educate the youth.  There are certainly obstacles in doing this in the public school system, but there people, such as Joe, who apparently doesn’t let obstacles get in the way.  Wow!  He was able to get personal finance taught in a public school this year.  [Personal Finance by the Book]
