Giveaways, Kids & Money

As a father of two young children, setting an example of good financial stewardship and teaching them about money management is important to me.  I believe children can start learning Biblical principles for managing money at an early age.  They just need the proper guidance and tools to help them learn.

So,for this month’s giveaway contest I’m giving away the ABC Learning Bank from Crown Financial Ministries.  The ABC Learning Bank helps children understand principles of giving, saving and spending and how to manage money wisely across these three areas.

Crown description of the ABC Learning Bank

The ABC Learning Bank has been designed to teach your child the value of money and how to handle it in a way that is pleasing to God. It is a fun, 3-compartment bank made of transparent plastic..Crown Financial Ministries ABC Learning Bank

Each of the 3-compartments (giving, saving and spending) can easily be separated – no more taking your entire bank with you! New stopper design is more durable and user-friendly. Free Bible-based information for parents is also included when you order from Crown.  (measures 12 X 7 ½ X 2 ¼ inches)

Personal Finance Blog Carnivals

What is a personal finance blog carnival?  If you’re interested in learning more, here is a great definition from BlogCarnival.com:

Blog Carnivals typically collect together links pointing to blog articles on a particular topic. A Blog Carnival is like a magazine. It has a title, a topic, editors, contributors, and an audience. Editions of the carnival typically come out on a regular basis. Each edition is a special blog article that consists of links to all the contributions that have been submitted, often with the editor’s opinions or remarks.

And here are the recent personal finance blog carnivals you can find One Money Design.

  3. I bought this for my nephew when he was 6 or 7. he’s 9 now. the CD that comes with it is a must have, teaches children about money (useful for parents too). by Larry Burkett. It’s worth the price for those buying it for the CD alone. Unfortunately they lost the cd and did not have a copy of it.

  4. I am crying that Lost is over. I can’t believe the US is watching the final segment tonight. What are we going to do each week. Josh Holloway is so hot! I am going to miss him. I am guessing there will be a movie deal now.

  • I recently posted some tips to save money on your cell phone bill which got a lot of attention in the comments section.  I suppose people are always looking to save money on cell phones since everyone has one these days.  One tip commonly mentioned in the comments was using Net10′s prepaid cell phones.  I haven’t hadn’t heard of Net10, but seems a lot of people are using them these days.  Do you have any experience with Net10?  This seems like a great approach for teens, or even those who have problems using more minutes than their plan allows each month.  What do you think?
